This two day course is designed for doctors involved in the care of acutely ill patients who wish to develop focussed echocardiography skills.
Topics covered will include basic science, the assessment of cardiac size and function, valvular disease and the presence of pericardial and pleural effusions.
The course is structured with a mix of lectures, case studies and the opportunity for small group hands-on scanning using simulators, of volunteers and interactive case studies to assess.
Faculty includes two specialist echocardiologists. Both are current or recent members of BSE council.
FICE accreditation applied for.
A certificate of completion of the course is provided.
