This course is intended for physiologists and physicians who are starting out in echocardiography.  No previous experience of echocardiography is assumed, however some previous scanning experience would be helpful.

An intensive two day preparation course immediately prior to the transthoracic accreditation examination.

The faculty includes experienced BSE examiners.

This course is aimed at those who have a working knowledge of echocardiography  who wish to consolidate their knowledge and understanding of clinical echocardiography. It is particularly suited to be part of the preparation for the BSE accreditation examination in transthoracic echocardiography.

Stress Echocardiography is of increasing importance as a safe and cost effective technique, particularly since the introduction of the recent NICE guidance for the management of chest pain.

This one day course will cover all aspects of providing a stress echo service.

The course will offer the opportunity to learn about and gain practical experience in the acquisition and analysis of 4D datasets from experts in the field. The use of 4D echo in both transthoracic and transoesophageal echo will be explored in detail.

This course is designed for doctors involved in the care of acutely ill patients who wish to develop focussed echocardiography skills.

Topics covered will include basic assessment of cardiac size and function, valvular disease and the presence of pericardial and pleural effusions.
